Meet Zion Suzuki, the black Japanese goalkeeper linked with Manchester United

Zion Suzuki stunned many with his black skin color after his appearance for Japan u21 side and considerations to be added to the Japanese team at the World Cup.

Japanese complexion are naturally white, and they are part of the few pure with nation on earth who have little or no amount of black people amongst them.

Appearing to be the only black player in the Japan team squad made Zion Suzuki gained World wide attention.

Origin of his black skin color

Questions regarding where he got his black skin color has erupted since he came into limelight.

Zion Suzuki was born to an Ewe mother from Ghana and a Japanese father. Both Zion’s mother and father lived in the United States of America, where they met and became a love item.

The couple gave birthed Zion and he got his father’s look while matching it subtly with his mother’s color, hence becoming a black Japanese.

Zion Suzuki football career

Zion Suzuki fell in love with football while he was in America but he only pursued it as a career when he relocated from America to Japan.

He began his career with Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan in 2013 where he showed his prowess in shot stopping.

In 2021 he was promoted to the first team of Urawa Red after he shined in six matches while representing the first team while still in the junior team.

Zion Suzuki with Japan National Teams

In 2016, Zion Suzuki got his first call up to represent Japan u15 team, he has since played in Japan’s u16, u17, u18 and is now part of the u21 team.

The hybrid player represented Japan in the u23 Asian Cup played earlier in 2022, where he played four matches and kept two clean sheets.

He’s tipped to become Japan next national team goalkeeper, with the abilities he already possess in goalkeeping despite just being only 20-year-old.

Zion Suzuki Manchester United links

Zion Suzuki, is close to signing a contract with Manchester United. The club, which has been keeping an eye on the 20-year-old custodian since 2017, is prepared to make a bid for him.

Suzuki, who now plays for the Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan, may become Manchester United’s second summer addition after Mason Mount.
