Popular bodybuilder and former Mr Olympia contender, Neil Currey has died at the age of 34 after reportedly committing suicide.
Neil Currey is believed to have taken his own life after a now edited post by his former trainer, Milos Sarcev;
“Absolutely shocking, heartbreaking news – that my former athlete @neil_currey died today…taking his own life.
My last/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia.
“I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Neil and God bless your soul.”
Internet network for bodybuilders In its reports confirmed Currey debuted at the 2017 World Championships. He competed in bodybuilding for the first time, placing fifth in the pro muscle division.
After six years as a professional athlete, he later competed “on some of the biggest stages in the sport,” taking home the gold in the 2022 New York Pro to ensure his invitation to the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest.
Tipped to be one of the most successful bodybuilder in history, Neil Currey was believed to be battling with unclear things which he made personal and choose not to disclose to anyone. He spends most time outside the gym alone without the company of anyone.
The reason for his suicide is yet to be confirmed but it is believed he took his own life.
