The fish lives 700 to 3300 feet deep in the sea. It barely or never comes to the top of the sea which makes it very hard for human sight.

This said fish is believed to be at a high level in the sea because it has injuries and for the injuries to heal quickly it needs to be at the warmer area of the sea.

The aquatic creature has enormous holes in its body, which were probably made by a cookie-cutter shark, can be seen in video footage that diving instructor Wang Cheng-ru shot. The small shark species known as the cookiecutter shark is renowned for “coring” cylindrical portions from huge fish and cetaceans.
