Chelsea are eyeing one of Modric and Kroos to add experience to their midfield

Chelsea are eyeing one of Modric and Kroos to add experience to their midfield. The blues’ Midfielders are all currently under the age of 25 and have often been accused of lacking experience.

Chelsea’s interest in Luka Modric is about to enter it’s 12th year as they once again chase the Croatia international. The blues registered interest in signing Modric before his move to Real Madrid in 2012. They also tried two years later to recruit the midfield Mozart but the los Blancos blocked any move.

Modric’s contract is set to run out at the end of the season and Real Madrid have no interest in renewing it.

Real Madrid believe they have the next generation of midfield world beaters in their ranks. They also believe that these players have had the time to learn from the very best midfielders of the last decade in Modric and Kroos.

Kroos’ contract with Real Madrid is about to run out and is already considering an exit over playing time. He is considering how much playing time he will as the likes of Bellingham, Valverde and Camavinga come to the fore from next season.

Chelsea’s current options Caicedo, Enzo, Gallagher, Palmer and Lavia are all 23 and under. As a unit they have often not performed as well as their quality suggests that they should.

The addition of either one of Modric and Kroos will add much needed guidance and experience to the side.

Modric and Kroos, both experienced campaigners, could do with the change in challenge as their careers win to a close.
