Chelsea are now heavily considering the to trigger the £71m buy back clause of Tammy Abraham from AS Roma.
Tammy Abraham, a Chelsea academy graduate was sold to Italian outfit, AS Roma after failing to impress then boss, Thomas Tuchel. Aware of his talents, a buy back clause was added in the agreement of both clubs.
Former Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard gave Tammy Abraham a chance with the first team after an impressive loan spell in Bristol and Swansea. He had a superb first senior team outing with Chelsea, becoming the clubs highest goal scorer that season.
CBS journalist, Ben Jacobs reported that Chelsea would try to negotiate a fee lower than £71m for Tammy Abraham as they heavily interested in signing Joao Felix permanently.
“With Chelsea and Abraham, there is a buy-back clause, which is set at €80m (£71m). That feels like a lot of money.
“It’s not to say that clubs or Chelsea wouldn’t try and get lower or negotiate that, but I don’t see much chance of them just activating that buy-back clause because Chelsea want to try and make the Joao Felix loan deal permanent and then focus on outgoings to work out what’s feasible, both in terms of the finances and also the squad size.”
Roman Abramovich dreams of a final goodbye to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge
